With 22 years of dedicated service in Richmond Public Schools, I am currently a Literacy Coach at Westover Hills Elementary School. My career began in the classroom, where I taught for 16 years across various grade levels, including Kindergarten, 1st, 3rd, 4th, and 5th grades. This diverse teaching experience has given me a profound understanding of student needs and curriculum development, which I now bring to my role as a literacy coach. I hold a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology and a Master’s degree in Teaching, both from Virginia Commonwealth University (VCU). To further enhance my expertise in educational leadership, I earned a Certificate in School Administration from the University of Virginia (UVA). My passion for literacy education led me to obtain a Master’s degree in Reading and a Certificate in Literacy Coaching from Old Dominion University (ODU). Throughout my career, I have been committed to fostering a love for reading and enhancing literacy skills among students and colleagues. My goal is to empower educators with the tools and strategies they need to inspire young readers and help all students achieve their full potential.
